A sido for Maran Ribed

FOLLOWING the death of Tan Sri Adenan Satem, this sido, a traditional form of Kelabit lament, was written by Rubin Jala, the brother of PEMANDU chief executive officer Datuk Seri Idris Jala. Rubin was working closely with Adenan, whom the Kelabits named Maran Ribed, on native customary land rights issues.

Forgive us Lord, for our grief and hurt
for the loss of our fair son and friend, Maran Ribed.
It seems you love him as much as we do
Forgive us, we still need him here too.
