Notion that society’s acceptance will cure HIV is far-fetched


WITH reference to Lyana Khairuddin’s article “Cure for HIV lies in society’s acceptance” (The Star, Dec 3), in all sincerity, I believe her views are a bit naive, far-fetched and defies medical science.

HIV, like any other disease or infection, needs treatment and society’s acceptance will not make it go away. On the contrary, it may cause a breakout.
