THE article by Ivan Loh, “New love for Concubine Lane” (The Star, Sept 16), reminds me of my childhood days in the Old Town.
I was born in a bicycle shop at Belfield Street (now Jalan Sultan Yusuf) a few decades ago, adjacent to a genuine Hainanese white-coffee shop. I always had my cup of milk tea and kaya bread at the coffee shop.
