OVER the past few months, several shooting incidents have happened in various locations in this country. The latest occurred just a few days ago when a real estate agent was shot dead at close range by two unknown assailants on a motorcycle at Taman OUG, Kuala Lumpur. The victim was driving with five children and a maid when the men, believed to be hired killers, approached the vehicle and opened fire.

Late last month, a man survived six gunshot wounds after being attacked by a motorcyclist at 3.5KM of the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Highway. A few days earlier, two motorists were injured when they were shot at the traffic lights at the intersection of the main road with Sunway Batu Caves. In Miri, Sarawak PKR branch secretary Bill Kayong was shot dead on June 21. On April 15, two men in Kota Kinabalu were killed in a drive-by shooting.
