Enforce the law on stormwater management


EVEN if the recent spate of flash floods in several areas in and around the federal capital is considered “temporary”, concrete steps must be taken – and urgently, too – to prevent or mitigate the aftermath of heavy rain in future.

It was reported that Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) is looking into measures to resolve the problem, among them a proposal to install pipes which would connect to storm drains and help dispose the flood waters.
