Look beyond race and religion for unity

AS a nation, we are more polarised than ever before. For far too long, Malaysians have papered over this fault line by going about our own business and pretending that unity issues do not exist. Recent events show a very different picture, however.

The Sarawak state election last week showed that a great rift does exist between east and west. The red shirt rallies last year as well as the establishment of the Mara Digital Mall show us that there are certain groups and individuals in Malaysia who would rather see us divided and disunited.
