THE decision by three Asean member countries to carry out patrols to tackle the recent surge of kidnappings by Islamist militants is a great and laudable move.
It is a timely act to issue a strong warning to the perpetrators. It must be implemented soonest and the countries involved must be committed to deal with this scourge.
