Climate change heats up interest in Geography


WHEN I was in school, Geography was one of the subjects students learnt. Initially, this consisted of learning to read maps and the world atlas which was popular at that time. It was exciting as students discovered the various continents and the countries in them.

We progressed to different components such as physical geography, human geography, rainfall, river systems, oceanography and, last but not least, climatology. These were the core content of the syllabus.
