Change behaviour to save water

WITH the dry and hot weather associated with the El Nino phenomenon expected to last until end of May or June, we seriously need to think about managing our water consumption wisely to ward off a potential water crisis.

According to the Department of Drainage and Irrigation, water level in rivers and dams in almost all states has gone down significantly. In Pasir Mas, Kelantan, the level at Bukit Kwong dam has fallen from 16.7m to 12.9m. Water level in many rivers in Pahang, including Sungai Pahang, Sungai Kuantan, Sungai Jelai and Sungai Rompin, has also fallen.
