Testing the new UPSR system


THE Education Ministry has recently announced several changes to the upcoming Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) format. It has tentatively proposed to implement a 40% school-based (on-going assessment) and a 60% central assessment (final exam). Education Minister Datuk Mahdzir Khalid said the Ministry would make an informed decision only after considering the views of stakeholders nationwide. We, therefore, would like to air our concerns over this new assessment system which is being proposed for the UPSR.
