Proud of my own country, warts and all

TO really appreciate our country, we need to travel abroad and experience the way of life out there. But travelling abroad nowadays has become a very expensive affair for normal wage earners because of our weak currency. Most wage earners now opt for local holidays.

But for the academics who must of necessity attend international conferences to present research findings and to test the validity of their data, this is a most financially distressed time.
