THERE is no substitute for a reasoned analysis and critical reflection of what is in store for us as we celebrate the 52nd year of the birth of Malaysia. To me, it is not the Government that must do this, as though their responsibility is greater than ours. All of us should reflect critically upon our situation. Every individual should try to become a thinking person. After all, it’s man’s capacity to think that makes him a human being.
But it is more than a mere thinking person that we need at this juncture in our development. The thinking person must be also prepared to act, to write, to persuade and to organise. If there are enough Malaysians who are prepared to think and to act, there is hope for the future.
