Titas absolutely necessary

I REFER to “Storm in a teacup” (Sunday Star, July 21) by Wong Chun Wai, which highlights Islamic and Asian Civilisation (Titas) as a compulsory subject for university students in private institutions from Sept 1.

It is absolutely necessary for university students to study Titas besides their respective core subjects – to expose them to a more balanced liberal education so that they will have a better worldview in this globalised world.
