It is the 45th time we are celebrating this auspicious day (better known in the country as Labour Day) since Malaysia began in 1972 to observe May 1 as a public holiday. Today, 14 million of our workers and 4.5 billion others in the rest of the world will be reminded of their contributions to the economic well-being of 222 countries and territories.
