A torn and divided nation

Richmond police keep members of the Tennessee based group "New Confederate State of America" separated from counter protesters in Richmond, Virginia.

OVER a month after the racially-charged events at Charlottesville, Virginia, the episode continues to divide the United States.

To recap, a “Unite the Right’ rally was held in the small university town on Aug 12 to protest against the removal of a statue of Confe-derate General Robert E. Lee. One of the largest white supremacist events in recent US history, it was met with counter-demonstrators and the resulting clash led to the death of one and 19 injured.
