WITH the year coming to a close and given the change of government in May, there is optimism about the future. Our hopes and expectations are seldom realised in full but still, they are targets that we work towards achieving.
Looking back at all that has happened in recent times, one thing that stands out is the right to freedom of speech. But it means little without freedom of the press, which is vital for keeping the voting population well-informed.
