ROME (Reuters) - The leader of Italy's far-right Northern League ruled out on Tuesday any future government role for party moderate Roberto Maroni, who has been touted as a possible prime minister if the centre-right bloc wins the March election.
Maroni, a former interior minister, unexpectedly announced at the weekend that he would not seek re-election this year as president of the wealthy Lombardy region, which is centred on Italy's business capital Milan.
