SHANGHAI (Reuters) - Twenty two workers were killed in a coal mine accident in southwestern China, the official Xinhua news agency reported on Wednesday, the latest mining disaster to highlight poor safety standards in the world's biggest coal producing country.
The accident, which occurred on Tuesday evening at the Yanshitai Coal Mine in Chongqing municipality's Wansheng District, was caused by a "gas incident", Xinhua quoted regional authorities as saying.
