25 Taiwan and China varsities recognised
A TOTAL of 18 universities in Taiwan and seven others in China are recognised by the Malaysian Government, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz.
“The recognition is given for the courses offered,” he told Chong Eng (DAP - Bukit Mertajam). The courses include dental surgery, medicine, Chinese medicine and Chinese studies.
Bernama reported Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Minister Datuk Ismail Sabri Yaakob as saying that the Cooperative Credit Societies are now allowed to impose only four loan charges - a processing fee of not more that RM100, a RM10 stamp duty, an insurance payment (based on type of loan and its amount), and a loan settlement fee (5% of the loan balance).
The restriction is enforced with immediate effect,” he said at parliament lobby. to ease the burden on borrowers and revive the functions of the cooperative movement, he told reporters at the parliament lobby.
“Credit cooperative societies are supposed to help members.”
