Are you able to help this newborn?
PENANG: All machinist Ch'ng Kar Keat wants is for his newborn son Tze Thean to be able to live a healthy life.
But the boy is now fighting hard to survive as he is suffering from a complex congenital heart disease and needs RM100,000 to undergo immediate corrective surgery.

WORRIED DAD: Ch’ng checking on Tze Thean at Penang Adventist Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. |
Tze Thean was born on June 6 and has been diagnosed with a condition known as Transposition of Great Arteries (TGA).
“Tze Thean needs to go for an immediate surgery to correct the reversed arteries so that blood could be channelled to the right atrium and ventricle,” he said.
Ch'ng and his wife Loh Ai Ling, 24, a clerk, cannot afford the operation as their combined monthly income is RM3,500 only.
Tze Thean's daily medicine and nursing care costing RM4,000 is currently being taken care of by the hospital's Heart Patient's Fund but this will not last long.
Ch'ng's colleagues had started circulating e-mail appealing for help from members of the public.
“I hope that my baby will recover soon and grow up healthily like other children,” he added.
Those wishing to help can send cheques payable to Penang Adventist Hospital Heart Patient's Fund with Ch'ng Tze Thean's name written at the back.
The cheques can be sent to Penang Adventist Hospital, 465, Jalan Burma, 10350 Penang.
For inquiries, call the hospital at 04-2227603/6 or e-mail: foundation@pah.com.my.
