Mongolian students express shock
PENANG: Mongolian students here are shocked by the brutal murder of 28-year-old Mongolian freelance model Altantuya Shaariibuu.
“We do not know her but we are shocked to learn about her murder. We are also scared,” said Dorj Solongo, 23, when met at a college here.
Prof Saarain Amarjargal, 37, who is studying English in the same private college, said there was a need for a Mongolian embassy in Malaysia given the increase in Mongolian students in the country.
“The murder of Altantuya is alarming. If something happens to us, who is there to inform our families immediately?” said the academic from the Mongolian University of Science and Technology.
He added that much time would be wasted waiting for help from the Mongolian Embassy in Bangkok.
“Most of us here can barely communicate with our limited English. If something bad happens, we would have no one to turn to,” he said.
