Yangon: Human Rights Watch (HRW) called on Myanmar to quash the conviction of former child soldier Aung Ko Htwe, who was jailed for speaking out about his experiences.
A Yangon court last Wednesday sentenced Aung Ko Htwe to two years with hard labour under section 505(b) of the penal code, which prohibits acts “likely to cause fear or alarm to the public”.
