Jokowi announces wedding date for daughter

JAKARTA: President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo held a press conference at his private residence in Surakarta, Central Java on Sunday announcing the wedding date of his daughter Kahiyang Ayu.

Kahiyang, currently a student at the Bogor Institute of Agriculture (IPB), engaged in June with Bobby Affif Nasution, who is a senior at her campus, and is expected to tie the knot in November.

Bobby is the son of former executive director of state-owned plantation holding company PT Perkebunan Nusantara II, Erwin Nasution.

Erwin passed away in in January this year.

"I apologize for [giving information] on such short notice. Because I happen to be here [in Surakarta], I also want to make the announcement.
