Manila: The government may have to spend more than the initial estimate of 20 billion peso (RM1.6bil) for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Marawi City, Budget Secretary Benjamin E. Diokno said.
Diokno said the reconstruction of Marawi would involve a multiyear, likely three-year, plan such that the cost of rehabilitation could exceed President Dutertes earlier estimate.
