Abe: Japan to create a society where women shine

TOKYO: Amidst an aging population and slower economic growth due to declining birth rates, Japan is looking at women to pave the way for the future.

Apart from encouraging female rights and empowerment, the Japanese government also sees women’s increased involvement in the workplace as a direct means of spurring economic development.
