SINGAPORE: A government veterinarian who checked on a horse at Gallop Stable's Pasir Ris ranch three years ago saw it drink water non-stop for two minutes and eat continuously for up to half an hour - something she had never seen before.
The emaciated 17-year-old chestnut thoroughbred mare's left hind leg was inflamed, its right hind leg was severely swollen and infected, and flies were in its tearing eyes.
