VIENNA: Austria’s centre-left begins the search for a new leader and new direction after a sharp drop in support, at the hand of the populist far-right, forced Chancellor Werner Faymann to quit.
Analysts said this new departure might even see Faymann’s Social Democrats (SPOe) taking the dangerous gamble of dropping its opposition to a tie-up with the far-right.
