Taipei: The Taipei District Court ruled that the Taipei City Government had no right to force a man off National Chengchi University (NCCU) campus grounds to receive psychiatric treatment on March 31, and ordered his immediate release.
Prosecutors said one cannot be certain whether the man, surnamed Ding, posed any danger to himself or others at the time of his arrest. And forcing him to receive treatment without his consent and detaining him had violated the Mental Health Act.
