JAKARTA: A tense debate has been taking place in the Gorontalo Legislative Council (DPRD) for the past couple of weeks, as they draw up a bylaw that will restrict the use of mosque loudspeakers during Meraji and Dikili ceremonies.
Both traditions are part of the annual procession and telling of the story of the Prophet Muhammad, held in commemoration of Prophet Muhammad’s ascension and birthday.
