Cagayán de Oro (Philippines) (AFP) - Philippine communist rebels have murdered a former comrade who left the insurgency to become a prominent advocate for peace as a town mayor, the military said Tuesday.
Soldiers found the bullet-riddled bodies of Dario Otaza, 53, and his 27-year-old son Daryl in a rural coconut grove early on Tuesday, said regional military chief Lieutenant-General Aurelio Baladad.
