PRESIDENT Tony Tan Keng Yam presided at the swearing-in of Justice V.K. Rajah as Singapore’s 8th Attorney-General.
Justice Rajah, 57, graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1982, and worked for law firm Rajah & Tann. In 1997, he was appointed Senior Counsel and in 2007, he was appointed a Judge of Appeal.
He takes over as Attorney-General from Steven Chong, who returns to the Supreme Court.
Justice Rajah was also appointed to the Presidential Council on Minority Rights for a three-year term. — The Straits Times / Asia News Network
