AN employer who had caused public outrage last May after he was shown allegedly slapping his worker in an online video was charged in court.
Lee Yew Nam, 43, the boss of IT software company Encore eServices, is accused of five counts of causing hurt to his employee Calvin Chan Meng Hock, 30, and one charge of abusing him.
The video of the abuse had made waves on mainstream and online media platforms last May.
The maximum penalty for causing hurt is two years’ jail and a S$5,000 (RM12,878) fine on each charge. — The Straits Times / Asia News Net-work
