PETALING JAYA: The Kelantan government's move to order food outlets in the state to close during terawih prayers is akin to blocking efforts to seek halal revenue during the holy month, says Bachok MP Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz.

He said this in response to an order issued by the state secretariat to temporarily close restaurants and food outlets between 8.30pm and 10pm to encourage more people to perform terawih prayers (obligatory prayers after the mandatory Isyak prayers during Ramadan).
