A VILLAGE in Tamil Nadu, India, has avoided celebrating the Ponggal festival for more than 100 years after a dog ate the offering at a temple there, Malaysia Nanban reported.
The villagers, who are mostly farmers, used to celebrate the harvest festival in a grand manner like the rest of the country, residents said.
