CAMERON HIGHLANDS: The impending arrival of Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad at Pakatan Harapan's by-election campaign here this week is a rare occasion, says Khairy Jamaluddin.

The Rembau MP said Umno was not afraid of anybody and would be focusing on its own campaign.

"It's just a bit extraordinary. Prime ministers do join (by-election campaigns) but it is rare," he told reporters during his visit to the Kampung Sungai Ruil orang asli resettlement village here on Sunday (Jan 20).

"This shows that they are serious and worried about our campaign," he added.

Dr Mahathir and other Pakatan bigwigs are expected to travel to Sungai Koyan to join the campaign there this coming week.

"That is the focus point for both sides as there are a lot of voters there.

"We will continue with our campaign also. Both PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang and Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan will also be there," he added.
