KUALA LUMPUR: A proposal to revamp the way the scourge of drug addiction and abuse is countered is being weighed, with the emphasis to move away from mere punitive action under the criminal justice system.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Liew Vui Keong (pic), who disclosed this yesterday, said several sections in the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 needed to be reviewed to correct the punitive approach.
