Long queues at the Immigration counters at the Tawau Airport is prompting calls for more counters to be opened for the convenience of passengers and tourist arriving in Tawau in Sabah's east coast.

KOTA KINABALU: More immigration officers should be deployed at the Tawau airport especially during the arrival of scheduled flights from Kuala Lumpur.

Currently, of the eight counters available, only two were manned at times during peak arrivals and this left many passengers “stranded” in long queues for hours at times just to clear immigration, said Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Christina Liew.
