PETALING JAYA: Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Lokman Noor Adam has urged the party to appoint Datuk Seri Najib Razak as de facto leader and opposition leader while Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi goes on leave.

Lokman said he was disappointed at Dr Ahmad Zahid's decision to step aside and hand over presidential duties to his deputy, calling the move a "victory" for Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
