PADANG TERAP: Rubber smallholder Ismail Ibrahim began cultivating volvariella mushrooms two years ago and is now reaping its benefits.

He earns between RM3,000 and RM4,000 a month from his harvest, a far cry from the RM1,000 he used to make tapping rubber.
