KUALA LUMPUR: The government is still studying preventive security laws (that allow for detention without trial), and "hopes" to be able to amend or repeal them, says Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Referring to the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma), Prevention of Crime Act 1959 (Poca), and the Prevention of Terrorism Act 2015 (Pota), he said special technical committees have been set up to look into all the proposals and feedback gathered from various stakeholders.
