PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Armed Forces has refuted claims that it has put culture aside by banning poems during events.
"The orders issued was an internal memo to all service branches to not have the emcees use poems or jokes during official military events. Official events by the Armed Forces are regimental in nature and its execution must be conducted with protocol and military ethics. Examples include events involving the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, parades and official events officiated by the Armed Forces or its service branches," said the statement issued today.
