PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has turned down an invitation for a forum with PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang during his visit to Port Dickson on Monday (Oct 8).

Mahathir said he is heading to Port Dickson to campaign for the Pakatan Harapan candidate Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

"Tak payah (there is no need). I will be going down tomorrow night (Monday night) (to Port Dickson), but I would not have a forum with him," he told the media after attending the United Nations Association Malaysia (UNAM) dinner here on Sunday (Oct 7) night.

However, he noted that it can be held some other time.

During a press conference held at the PAS Headquarters in Teluk Kemang, Negri Sembilan earlier Sunday, Hadi had issued the invitation to the prime minister to engage in a forum in Port Dickson, where polls are scheduled to be held on Oct 13.

"If there is a forum with the prime minister, that would be best," Hadi said.
