Cops detain suspect for trespassing into Johor palace grounds

JOHOR BARU: Police have detained a 42-year old suspect for trespassing into Istana Bukit Serene grounds here. 

Johor police chief Comm Datuk Mohd Khalil Mohd Kader said the man was arrested on Thursday (July 19) at around 11.15pm. 

"The suspect was driving a truck and had entered the palace grounds," he said in a statement on Friday. 

The case is being investigated under the Prohibited Areas and Prohibited Places  Act 1959.

Comm Khalil said from 2017 until July 19 this year, there were nine cases of trespass into palace grounds in Johor.
