KUALA LUMPUR: A man suffered burn injuries after he was splashed with acid along Jalan Raja Chulan on Tuesday (July 10).

The victim, in his forties, suffered 12 to 20% burns on his body during the attack.

Dang Wangi Deputy OCPD Rudy Abdullah said that a complainant informed the police that he saw two men on a blue motorcycle smash the window of the victim's car, before throwing the acid.

Police believe that the suspects had their faces covered and were wearing black jackets and black helmets.

"The victim was taken to the hospital by members of the public," he said in a statement.

The victim was alone in the car at the time, and is said to be in a stable condition.

The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt.
