KUALA TERENGGANU: A former director with the state Forestry Department was slapped with a RM30,000 fine and 12 months’ jail on Wednesday (June 20) after he was found guilty of three counts of corruption at the Sessions Court here.
Datuk Azmi Nordin, 59, had been charged with accepting bribes amounting to RM60,000 on three separate occasions between March and August 2013 from a timber company to get permits to log at the Hulu Terengganu Forest reserve.
