PETALING JAYA: Wanita MCA is appealing for Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to instruct the police to locate Prasana Diksa, so that she can be reunited with her mother M. Indira Gandhi.

“Wanita MCA implores him (Muhyiddin) and the enforcement authorities to set aside all racial and religious differences and preferences for the sake of humanity and compassion,” said its chairman Datuk Heng Seai Kie in a statement on Tuesday.

“Bring the child to her mother’s long-awaited embrace and let her experience sibling love from her sister and brother,” she said.

Prasana was taken by her father K. Pathmanathan @ Muhammad Riduan Abdullah after he converted Prasana and her two older siblings to Islam in 2009 without Indira’s knowledge.

Prasana was 11 months old at the time. Prasana’s two older siblings, Tevi Darshiny, then 12, and Karan Dinesh, then 11, remained with their mother.

On Jan 29, the Federal Court ruled in Indira’s favour, nullifying the unilateral conversion of her three children in a landmark decision.

The court ruled that the conversion of minors to Islam required the consent of both parents.

The court also ordered the police to locate Riduan and Prasana, and to return the child to Indira. But Indira has still yet to be reunited with Prasana.

Heng noted that Bukit Aman Special Branch has the ability to locate and apprehend IS-linked terrorists before their planned assaults in Malaysia.

“We are confident and strongly believe that they are highly capable in the search to detect Prasana and Riduan,” she said.

Heng urged the police to check records of Prasana in schools, or check dental or inoculation records that can help in tracing the child’s whereabouts.

“No mother in the right mind can bear such separation, what more, when her ex-husband mocks the rule of law, owing to the police’s seemingly nonchalance attitude,” said Heng.

Human Resources Minister M. Kulasegaran, who is also Indira’s lawyer, recently announced he would be meeting Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun soon to expedite the process of locating Prasana.
