IPOH: More organisations have stepped up to donate to Tabung Harapan Malaysia.

This time, it's the Perak Timber Traders Association that are donating RM123,000 to the fund to help the country overcome its debt.

Association president Datuk Cheah Keng Meng presented the mock cheque to Perak Mentri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu at the state secretariat building Tuesday (June 12).

"We are happy to donate to the new Government.

"We look forward to having closer rapport and to work closely with the new Government," he said.

Tabung Harapan was launched following the rakyat's initiative to lend support to the Government after the nation's debt reached RM1 trillion.

The Government established the fund to ensure that there was a systematic and transparent platform to safeguard all contributions and donations and that they were properly managed and organised.
