KUALA LUMPUR: Two juveniles were found guilty of robbing RM252, six boxes of cigarettes and two packs of lozenges from a convenience store two months ago.
A 16-year-old juvenile was ordered by a Sessions Court here to undergo 60 hours of social service within six months for the robbery.
His friend Zarulfikri Zulkiflee, 20, who was a stall helper, was ordered by judge Mahyon Talib to be sent to the Henry Gurney School until he reaches the age of 21.
The judge sentenced the two after they pleaded guilty to the charge.
Both were jointly charged with committing gang robbery on Ummi Hani Kamaruddin, 17, by taking, among others, an iron box containing RM252.55, six boxes of cigarettes and two packs of lozenges.
They committed the offence at a 24-hour convenience shop in Seri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, at 3am on Apr 23.
They were charged for gang robbery under Section 395 of the Penal Code, which, for adults, carry a maximum of 20 years jail and a possible whipping, if convicted.
