KOTA KINABALU: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) in Sabah and Labuan has detained two suspected illegal immigrants for trespassing a protected oil rig area off the coast of Pulau Mengalum, off the coast here.
Kota Kinabalu MMEA director, First Admiral (Maritime) Adam Aziz said a team was patrolling the waters during an operation codenamed “Ops Api”, when they detected two unregistered pump boats in the area at about 10.30pm on Tuesday (May 5).
