SHAH ALAM: Tun Daim Zainuddin (pic) says former Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia member Anina Saadudin has no right to question him about his wealth.
“Who is she to challenge me?” he told reporters without mincing words after meeting residents of Section 11 here on Monday.
Daim reminded reporters that Anina had initially supported Pribumi chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed before switching camps and backing Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
He said Anina should not challenge Dr Mahathir’s support in Langkawi where he is contesting in GE14.
When asked if he will be joining Pakatan Harapan, Daim said it was not necessary to join the Opposition coalition, but said he would campaign for them instead.
During the event at Section 11, Daim had a question-and-answer session alongside Pakatan candidates Khalid Samad (Shah Alam-Amanah), Najwan Halimi (Kota Anggerik-PKR) and Rodziah Ismail (Batu Tiga-PKR).
At an earlier press conference, Anina challenged Daim and former Umno veterans Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz and Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim to declare their wealth.
On Saturday (May 5), Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor confirmed that the party had expelled Daim and Rafidah for “colluding” with the Opposition.
Rais, who has allegedly been critical of the Government, will also be facing disciplinary action.
